South East Junior Section Blitz

Carlow Hockey Club Junior Blitz

A large blitz for u8/10 & 12s was held on Saturday Feb 28th in Kilkenny College, Kilkenny.
It was open to boys and girls within the South East Region. Kilkenny College was chosen as it has two pitches and can cater for the large number of teams.
Clubs who attended were Carlow HC, Enniscorthy HC, Wexford HC, Kilkenny HC, Gorey HC and Abbeyleix HC.
Over 300 children took part. There were approx. 12 boys with the remainder being girls.
At under 8s 12 teams took part playing 5 a side games over an hour & a half (10 min games)
At under 10s 13 teams took part playing 7 a side games over 2 hours (12 min games)
At under 12s 16 teams took part playing 8 a side games over 2 hours (17 min games)
The weather was great and all children played lots of hockey.We have run this blitz annually for the past 5 years and look forward to doing so again next February.
