Creating a Safe and Supportive Environment

Leinster Hockey is fully committed to providing a safe, enjoyable, and supportive environment for all participants involved in our sport—especially young people. Everyone in hockey has a role to play in ensuring that players are treated with respect and care, and that their wellbeing is always a priority.

We believe that every young person should have the opportunity to enjoy hockey and perform at their best, free from any form of abuse, neglect, bullying, or intimidation. To support this, we are committed to:

•    Protecting the rights and safety of all underage players.

•    Appointing a dedicated Children's Officer Panel within Leinster Hockey.

•    Appointing a Designated Liaison Person to support communication with Statutory Authorities.

•    Responding promptly and appropriately to any concerns about player welfare.

•    Ensuring that all coaches and leaders are aware of and follow our Code of Conduct.

These practices are aligned with the Hockey Ireland Code of Ethics for Hockey for Young People, which applies across both ROI and NI. All LHA policies apply to individuals under 18, or those eligible to represent Leinster at Under-18 level, in any LHA-controlled event.
