Portrane HC return to the penninsula
September 27, 2015
On Sunday, Portrane HC officially returned to their spiritual home in Donabate-Portrane. After 22 years wandering, the club welcomed Fingal Lord Mayor Cllr David O'Connor, Paul Reid (Chief Executive Fingal County Council), Richard Kendrick, (President Hockey Ireland), Brendan Ryan (TD) and guests to the fantastic facility.
LHA President and life member of Portrane Hockey Club, Percy Henchy thanked everyone who worked tirelessly keeping the club going while they were without a base on the penninsula. He also congratulated the efforts of James Neville, Pat McCann, Peter Conway, Peter Byrne, Ronan McGeehan, Mark & Matt McCann who never gave up hope of returning to Donabate-Portrane.

To mark the occasion the Irish Men's team played a Leinster Presidents XI in front of a great crowd. The Irish Men ran out 6-3 winners on the day.
Thanks to Craig Fulton and the squad for participating on the day and to Carol Metchette and Kieran Bolger (umpires) and Joe Connolly & Crozier Deane (officials) who officiated for the game.
