League points are awarded as follows- Win - 3 points
- Score Draw - 2 points
- Scoreless Draw - 1 point
- Loss - 0 points
Score difference will not be considered when calculating the final section places/positions and to determine the cross-over games.
The top two teams in each section go into a LEAGUE play-off competition
The middle two teams go into a SHIELD play-off competition
The lower two teams go into a PLATE play-off competition
As the X8B, X8C, X8D and Minor C divisions have more than two sections there is a need for a quarter-final round. Those games are due to be played on 08-February based on the standings next Sunday evening.
In the event of a tie for points at the end of the round robin stage, the final positions are first be determined by the results between the teams who are tied. (e.g. the winning team from the fixture is deemed to have placed higher than the other team)
If it is not possible to determine the final positions at that stage (i.e. if the teams drew with each other or there is a three way tie) then a coin toss / or names drawn from the hat determine the positions. ...
Play-off matches to determine final league standings
A number of clubs have requested that their teams be given the opportunity to replay the drawn match and in particular as the semi-finals are not scheduled until 01-March.
We have considered this proposal as a committee and are agreed that where two teams are tied on points, where both clubs are amenable to playing such a fixture, then a match could be arranged between the clubs, reversing the original home/away status if possible.
If one team is not in a position to play the fixture then names will be drawn from a hat to determine final standings. We note that clubs may already have made plans on the available dates and are not therefore available to take part in a play-off fixture.
The last date for those play-off games will need to be 01-Feb (next Sunday) for X8B, X8C, X8D and Minor C games, and 22-Feb for all other leagues. (Clubs involved in the Junior Girls Jacqui Potter Cup or Plate competitions need to be aware that the semi-finals are due to be played on 22-Feb and should take that into consideration when scheduling matches).
The requirement for a playoff for some leagues cannot be determined until Sunday evening when the backlog games have been played and results have been submitted.
Outstanding Fixtures - scheduled for 01-Feb and the results text must be responded to on the day or the match will be considered not to have been played.
