Important notice for Clubs & Schools

The Leinster Hockey Association wish to bring to the notice of all Clubs -
Anyone who works or deals with Young People (Coaches, Managers, Umpires, Administrators) must
- have completed a Code of Ethics Course for Young People
- be Garda Vetted by either their Club or Leinster Hockey Umpires Association
- comply with LHA Code of Conduct
Clubs and Schools are responsible for ensuring that anyone retained either on a permanent basis or ad hoc basis complies with the above.
Coaches, Managers, Administrators - Clubs must ensure that all checks are carried out before appointing a person to a position
Umpires - Club umpires should be vetted and have completed the Code of Ethics Course for Young People to ensure that they are covered by the Club Insurance .
The Leinster Hockey Umpires Association carry out Garda Vetting on their members and only member umpires appointed by the association are covered by the LHUA Insurance.
Clubs and Umpires have a duty of care to all players which may include responsibility for any dangerous play which they allow.
The LHA Insurance policy will not be responsible where the Umpire is not covered by either the Club or the LHUA policies.
