Junior Girls Club Updates - Important

November 24, 2014

As we approach round three of the junior girls league fixtures we would like to take the opportunity to remind you of the following

Players / Parents /Coaches – Code of Behaviour
All clubs are expected to comply with the LHA code of conduct regarding playing, coaching, spectating at hockey events. We would strongly encourage clubs to review the codes and ensure that they are compliant – these are junior girls’ development games and while there is an element of competition involved, we would expect that the participants on both teams are being encouraged by all sides at the matches.

Remember – every team will be streamed into a League, Shield or Plate competition at the end of the round robin stage.

Extreme 8 (1st year leagues) rule reminders
• Circles should be close to full size on the half-pitch (e.g. 14m to 16m) and ideally a full sized hockey goal… but certainly full width goal to be marked out
• The penalty free involves 3 defenders and 4 attackers.
• Only one attacker needs to be outside of the circle to take the free (5m from the edge of the centre point of the circle)
• ALL other players need to be in the opposite circle
• The defenders do not need to be behind the baseline as they are defending a free not a corner
• In the A and B leagues teams must field a fully padded goalie for the round robin stages.
o IF an A or B league team does not have a goalie available, then they are restricted to 7
outfield players
• In the C and D leagues teams are encouraged to field a goalie
o They will not be restricted to 7 outfield players in the round robin stages
o ALL teams must field a fully padded goalie for the knock out stages (which may need to be
decided by a penalty competition) and will be restricted to 7 outfield players if they do not
field a goalie at that stage.

Registration / Match Cards / Playing “up”
• Match cards should be available at all venues, and held by the home team
• The home team is as per the fixtures (although we realise that the actual match venue may have been reversed in some cases)
• Players may play up a level a maximum of 3 times before being re-registered (e.g. from a “c” team to a “b” team within an age group, or from a minor to a junior team)
Results
• Please ensure that you respond to the results texts by 6pm on Sunday
• Although goal difference appears on the website – it does not count in the final ranking for positions within sections
• It is preferable that clubs do not submit a score difference of more than 3 (e.g. 7-1 would normally be recorded as 4-1)
