Leinster Girls Ready for Interprovincial Tournament on Home Soil

The Girls Interprovincial Tournament is finally here, with our Leinster and Leinster South U16 and U18 Girls ready to take to the pitch at Grange Road (Three Rock Rovers) this weekend.
After months of hard work, training and competition throughout the Development Programme, the tournament everyone has been waiting for has arrived. Both Leinster and Leinster South will be looking to build on their preparations and produce their best performances as they compete for the Interprovincial titles.
The tournament gets underway on Friday, with the teams facing Ulster, Connacht and Munster across three days of competition.
U16 Girls
The opening game of the U16 competition will see Leinster and Leinster South face each other at 2:00pm on Friday, setting up an exciting start to the tournament at Three Rock Rovers.
Leinster will then face Ulster at 6:00pm on Friday, before taking on Connacht on Saturday. Their final game will see them face Munster on Sunday.
For Leinster South, Saturday will bring a double-header, with games against Connacht at 10:00am and Munster at 4:00pm. Their final fixture will see them face Ulster at 3:00pm on Sunday.
With plenty of quality across all four teams, the U16 competition promises to be a hugely entertaining weekend of hockey.
U18 Girls
The U18 competition will see Leinster, Leinster South, Munster and Connacht compete for the U18 Interprovincial title.
The opening game on Friday will see Leinster and Leinster South meet at 3:30pm on Pitch 1 in another exciting all-Leinster contest.
Leinster will then face Munster on Saturday before completing their tournament against Connacht on Sunday. Leinster South will face Connacht on Saturday, before taking on Munster on Sunday.
Leinster South head into the tournament with plenty of confidence following an excellent performance at The Hague Tournament earlier in the season. The squad finished runners-up in the U18 competition and recorded an impressive victory over the Croatian U18 National Team along the way.
It promises to be an extremely competitive weekend, with all four teams aiming to finish at the top of the table and lift the Interprovincial title.
Last year, Ulster completed a remarkable double, claiming both the U16 and U18 titles. This year, Leinster and Leinster South will be determined to challenge for the honours on home soil.
