Leinster Hockey partners with GameDay
August 25, 2026
Ireland's largest provincial hockey association moves onto the GameDay platform, deepening a longstanding partnership with Hockey Ireland that began in 2021.
DUBLIN, IRELAND – 25/08/2026 - Leinster Hockey has announced a new partnership with GameDay, the sport technology platform, to advance the administration of hockey across the province for the 2026/27 season.
The partnership is Leinster Hockey's first with GameDay and will bring the association's competitions, membership, player pathway and officials administration onto a single connected platform. It builds on GameDay's relationship with Hockey Ireland, which began in 2021 and today supports membership and competitions for the national governing body.
Under the agreement, GameDay will provide Leinster Hockey with:
Competition management for all schools and club competitions across the province
Player pathway software to support the identification, selection and management of their national team pathway squads
Membership management for all affiliated schools and clubs
Official management through Schedula, GameDay's appointments solution for umpires and technical officials

Leinster is the largest of Hockey Ireland's four provinces, with more than 40 clubs and 90 schools playing under its auspices. The association runs a year-round competition calendar spanning senior leagues and cups, senior and junior schools competitions, junior club hockey, indoor, vets and social leagues, alongside its Hockey ID programme. It also fields provincial squads at under-16, under-18 and under-21 level for both boys and girls, including Leinster South teams, feeding players into the national pathway.
For clubs, schools and members, the move means a single registration and login experience across national and provincial hockey, with fixtures, results, tables and player records available through the GameDay app. For administrators, it consolidates competition scheduling, member records, match cards and umpire appointments in one place, reducing duplicated data entry between the province and Hockey Ireland.
Denise McKenna - General Manager, Leinster Hockey
“Hockey in Leinster has grown significantly, and it’s important that our systems continue to grow to meet that demand. GameDay is a brilliant addition for us, with its sports technology supporting our competitions, membership and management, while also connecting directly with the system already used by Hockey Ireland.
We look forward to working with GameDay and exploring the opportunities the platform can provide for Leinster Hockey over the coming seasons.”
Richard Fahey – Hockey Ireland, CEO
“We welcome Leinster Hockey’s partnership with GameDay and the opportunity it creates to strengthen alignment across Irish hockey. By working collaboratively with Hockey Ireland, the provinces and GameDay, we can continue to enhance the platform and create a more connected digital ecosystem for our clubs, members and supporters. This partnership is an important part of our wider ambition to make hockey simpler to administer and easier to follow.”
Lilly Freeman - Senior Account Manager, GameDay
"The best part of my job is getting to know the people behind an association, and Leinster has been a pleasure from the first conversation. What strikes you straight away is how much of the hockey in that province runs on people who love it. Volunteers doing fixtures after work, coaches driving across Leinster on a Saturday morning. They're not a logo on a customer list to us. Denise and her team know exactly what they want hockey in Leinster to look like in five years, and our job is to make sure our technology gets them there. That's the part I'm genuinely excited about."
