U18 Indoor Tournament Round-Up

What a day and what a tournament!

The U18 Boys’ and Girls’ Indoor Tournament took place on Sunday in Gormanston, hosted and organised by Boyne Hockey Club. Running from 9am to 5pm across four indoor courts, the event was packed with brilliant hockey and a fantastic atmosphere throughout.

Let’s take a look at how the action unfolded

Boys’ Tournament

The Boys’ competition kicked off the day, featuring two groups of four teams, with the top two from each group progressing to the semi-finals.

In Group A, there were fantastic performances from start to finish. The opening match between Avoca and Corinthians set the tone — a thrilling 4–3 win for Avoca. Avoca and Railway Union eventually topped the group and advanced to the semi-final stage.

Group B followed suit with closely contested matches and standout performances. Portrane emerged as group winners, followed by Bray, completing the semi-final lineup.

In the first semi-final, Avoca faced Bray and showed real composure and clinical finishing to secure a 5–0 win and a spot in the final. The second semi-final saw Portrane take on Railway Union, with Portrane finding their rhythm to claim victory and join Avoca in the final.
