Sports Capital Grant & Fundraising Masterclasses

July 22, 2019

Following feedback from the recent Roadshows around the province the Board has retained the services of 2into3 to run two Masterclasses for Leinster Hockey clubs covering

  • - Sports Capital Grants
  • - Fundraising Strategy

2into3 are a Management Consulting Company with expertise in applying for Sports Capital Grants, recently assisting Avoca, Monkstown & YMCA Hockey Clubs achieve funding.  They also have extensive expertise in fundraising strategy development.

Sports Capital Grant Masterclass - 02nd September (**Rescheduled date)
The Department of Transport, Tourism & Sport will soon announce the remaining allocations for the 2019 round of the Sports Capital Programme.  The government has allocated €40 million for the 2019 round of the programme, with a call for submissions expected later in October/November.

Leinster Hockey is seeking to improve the performance of our clubs in the Sports Capital Programme.  To date, 2into3 have run similar sessions around the country for Cricket Ireland, Basketball Ireland, Badminton Ireland & Sport for Business while also working regionally with Leinster Rugby and Cricket Leinster.  The sessions were very well received by clubs.

The Masterclass will cover best practice and common pitfalls associated with such applications and will give you valuable information on how to apply.  It should be noted that clubs can apply for grants for playing gear, playing equipment, goals, fencing not just big ticket items like pitches.

The purpose of this collaboration is to encourage more of our clubs to apply for funding while also making sure to avoid invalid applications.

Fundraising Masterclass- 9th September

Fundraising is a key element of the funding model of the not-for-profit sector.  Sports clubs benefit from the generosity of volunteers & supporters but many have not reached their potential when it comes to raising funds philanthropically.

The Fundraising Strategy Development Masterclass will inform participants of the fundraising landscape, the process of developing a fundraising strategy and practical key steps to get your club ready to fund raise.  The purpose of this collaboration is to encourage more of our clubs to diversify existing funding models while also developing your capacity to fund raise effectively.

Once registered for one or both of these Masterclasses, participants will be asked to provide some information regarding your Sports Capital Applications and Fundraising activities.  All information received will be confidentially handled by 2into3's Darren McMahon.  The gathering of such information will allow for an examination of the strengths and challenges of clubs regarding grant applications and fundraising and inform key insights to support clubs achieving their ambitions.

Cost per Masterclass:€50 per person (Note- the Masterclasses are being partly funded by Leinster Hockey and places are limited to 40 max).
