LHA Coach Development Programe

The LHA will be holding three coach education sessions starting Friday 31 August
These sessions should be of interest to coaches
- involved in LHA development centres
- coaching 2nd level students on Club or School teams
The sessions will be led by Mick McKinnon who has been working with the inter-provincial coaches in Leinster over the past 2 years and has developed the player assessment exercises used to select players for development panels
Sessions 1 and 2 will take place in the Kings Hospital School and will be a mix of Class Room and on the Pitch
It is hoped that Session 3 can take place in Three Rock Rovers, Grange Road where the girls Inter-Pros will be taking place
The cost per session is €25 per person with discounts available for coaches who
- register and pay by 01-Aug (€15 per session or €40 for all three sessions)
- register and pay by 24-Aug (€20 per session or €50 for all three sessions)
31-Aug, 7 - 9pm (Friday): The Development System for Player and Coaching
Detailing what type of players and coaches we are looking for on our inter-provincial panels
07-Sep, 7 - 9pm (Friday): Creating the right culture for your team
Detailing how we create culture, and cultural architects. How your coaching style should match this
21-Sep, 7 - 9pm This session has been postponed. Participants will be notified of alternative date/venue. (Friday): Developing tactics and principles for your team
An introduction to what tactics and principles should be developed at each level
