Kenny Carroll announced as new Leinster Development Officer

Hockey Ireland is delighted to announce that Kenny Carroll has been appointed as Regional Development Officer (Leinster).


Kenny brings vast experience of sports development from his work as a Development Officer with Cricket Leinster, as well as vast playing and coaching experience. Kenny is a former senior International hockey player and cricketer.


Speaking on his appointment to the role, Kenny Carroll said; ‘I am excited to join Hockey Ireland in the role as Regional Development Officer. Hockey in Leinster is well positioned to continue to grow. It has a strong core with some very well run and growing clubs and excellent hockey programmes in numerous schools. On the same hand, we have some clubs and schools that need to gain some momentum to strengthen themselves into the future. In my role I will assist with the sustainable development of hockey across the province.’


National Development Manager for Hockey Ireland, Sue Haslam, said of his appointment: ‘We are delighted to welcome Kenny onto our team and are looking forward to working with him to increase participation in Leinster.’


Working alongside Leinster Hockey, Kenny will be responsible for deliver Hockey Ireland programmes in the Leinster Region, working with clubs, schools and volunteers towards targets set out in the Hockey Ireland National Development Plan, as well as the Leinster Hockey Strategic Plan.


Kenny will begin the role on 8th June and will be based in the Hockey Ireland Offices in UCD, Belfield.
