HookedforLife - Developing Young People through Hockey

HookedforLife - Developing Young People through Hockey

January 07, 2017

This workshop considers the importance of delivering a quality coaching and playing programme within your club with a focus on recruitment and retention of players. The club’s playing programme should be in line with HookedforLife (Hockey Ireland’s Long Term Player Development Model). This underpins the delivery of appropriate coaching and competition, and supports the creation of pathways to provide children and young people with opportunities to maximise their potential.

Examples of topics covered in this section include:

  • The adoption of suitable participant to coach ratios
  • Ensuring coaches hold appropriate qualifications
  • Ensuring clubs are aware of and address recruitment and retention issues
  • Ensuring participants receive a suitable number of playing opportunities

Where : Sport HQ, National Sports Campus, Abbotstown

When :  18th January 2017

Time : 7.30 - 9pm
