Introduction

We are only three weeks out from the start of the Olympics. The game with India will be played a fortnight from next Saturday. The emphasis now is on organising ‘get togethers’ at clubs and pubs around the matches.

Where can you watch The OLYMPIC GAMES hockey on Television

Ireland’s first game is on Saturday 6th August at 15.00. We are suggesting that clubs / members might arrange a get together in association with the matches

Monkstown Hockey Club Pre Season Olympic BBQ

It’s that time of the year again when we are getting close to pre-season! Before all the hard work starts we would be delighted if everyone could join us for a pre-season Olympic BBQ in the Tramyard Café, Dalkey, on the 6th of August at 2pm.

The Green Machine will also be playing their first Olympic match against India and the match will be shown live on the big screen.

For once we are requesting you to leave the blue behind and pull on your favourite green shirt and help us cheer on the boys in green. There will be a prize for the best dressed supporter and just in case you forget, face paint will be available on the day.

The BBQ is open to all members (new and old), supporters, friends and family of the club, so make sure to spread the word and join us on this historic day for Irish hockey. If we shout loud enough they might hear us in Rio!
