Olympic dividend newsletter volume 07 July 3rd 2016
Introduction
We present a simple weekly newsletter that will aim to share as much information as possible with interested persons.
The Irish team
The IHA funding to take part in the Olympics is about â¬225K short of the required amount. Over â¬200K has been collected. See www.hockey.ie for details. There is some fundraising planned in Cork in conjunction with the two Dutch games next week.
The LHA action to achieve a dividend from Olympic participation
The LHA are suggesting two sets of actions as follows: -
- We are proposing that as many clubs as possible might organise a regular weekly hour of hockey from June through the Olympic games in August.
- On the one of the days that Ireland are playing at the Olympics that a club might organise an event in association with the game. This would culminate with people congregating to watch the game on a big screen in a club house or other venue.
