Muckross Hockey Club are looking for a Junior Club Head Coach and Age Group Lead Coaches for 2016-17 season
Muckross HC has a strong youth section, catering for all levels of players. The section is the cornerstone of the clubâs strategic plan and each year players successfully transition from the junior section onto teams from the 1st to 6th XI. Our retention rates in the junior club are in excess of 98% and each year we have up to 100 membership applications that we are unable to accept.
The junior club has in excess of 350 members and training is typically held on a Sunday in Donnybrook. There are currently 20+ coaches involved in training, including a TY and Youth Leader coach development stream.
In recent years, with revised coaching and development plans in place for all players, a number of players have been selected on LHA development squads and inter-provincial panels.
The Head Coach is responsible for setting and agreeing the development curriculum and training plans for players from 1st class to 4th year, leading all coach development and planning sessions, assignment of lead coaches and team coaches to each age group.
Lead Coaches are responsible for ensuring curriculum and training plans delivered in line with plans.
There are strong links to the senior club and players from 1st year upwards are invited to mid-week training sessions as appropriate to their individual development plan. The head coach will be responsible for leading the talent identification and will liaise with the senior club to ensure that the young players are being managed in line with club policies re the management of youth players & code of ethics player welfare policies
The club would welcome proposals & applications to juniors@muckrosshc.com
