New RDO for Leinster

The Irish Hockey Association is pleased to announce that Sue Haslam has been appointed as Regional Development Officer for Leinster. Sue brings a wealth of experience to the role having worked in sports development with a range of bodies including Kilkenny Local Sports Partnership, Limavady Borough Council and the University of Ulster Coleraine. Sue also has a BSc in Sports and Exercise Science as well as a range of sport specific coaching qualifications in hockey, basketball, inclusion and fitness amongst others.
Speaking on her appointment to the role, Sue Haslam stated:
"I am delighted to be taking on the position of Regional Development Officer for Leinster and am excited about what I can bring to the role. I am looking forward to working towards increasing participation and promoting hockey across the whole province of Leinster."
Strategic Development Director for Irish Hockey, Fiona Mills, also spoke on Sue's appointment saying:
"The IHA is delighted to appoint Sue to the role of RDO in Leinster. Hockey is at a very exciting juncture in Leinster with growth within the girls' and boys' game. I have no doubt that Sue will build on this success and all at the IHA wish her the very best of luck as she settles into the role."
This appointment sees a change in how the role is structured with the Leinster Hockey Association taking on a greater involvement. The RDO for Leinster will be line managed directly by the LHA with Sue reporting to Claire Kelly, LHA Administrator.
LHA President, Barbara O'Malley, was also keen to welcome Sue on board saying:
"The LHA are delighted with the announcement that Sue will be joining us as RDO. I would like to welcome her to the role and we are really looking forward to working with her to create a great future for Leinster Hockey."
Sue will be taking up the post on September 11th 2012 and will be based in the IHA Offices in UCD, Belfield, Dublin 4
