January 14, 2026
The second weekend of action took place on Sunday in Portrane as the U14 Indoor Tournament continued. With some fantastic matches, strong performances and a great atmosphere throughout the day, we now have the draws for the upcoming Shield and Cup weekends, which will take place over the next two weeks. Let’s take a look at how the groups played out on Sunday.
Girls Group B
There was some excellent hockey on display in Girls Group B. Avoca got off to a great start and maintained their form to top the group unbeaten, recording four wins and two draws. Skerries finished close behind with four wins, but a narrow 1–0 loss to YMCA in their final group game saw them finish second.
Monkstown and Portrane 2 also qualified for the Cup competition, while Corinthians, YMCA and Three Rock Rovers will compete in the Shield.

Boys Group B
With five teams competing, Boys Group B was a highly competitive day of hockey. Three Rock Rovers topped the group with three wins and one draw to secure their place in the Cup. Monkstown finished second, just one point behind, after losing to Three Rock in their final game.
Avoca claimed third place, with a win over Boyne in the final group match sealing their spot in the Cup. Portrane and Boyne both put in strong performances and will compete in the Shield competition next Sunday.
