Leinster Girls U21/U18/U16/U14
The coaching and management positions for the Ladies U21, Girls U18/U16/U14 squads have not yet been finalised. We expect to complete the interview and appointment process over the coming weeks.
Development of a broad base of players at U14 and U16 is seen as a high priority for the Leinster Academy. With very high numbers of players being put forward for selection onto the development squads it can require a number of development cycles before the core panels are selected. This is becoming more and more challenging each year as the number of coaches with the necessary qualifications and experience are reducing.
An Under 17 development squad has been selected to travel to Holland at Easter. Players have also been identified from the trials and will be included in the U18 development this season.

| Leinster Girls U16 Head Coach | Noelle Farrell | Noelle was assistant coach last season with the Leinster U16s and is currently a national U16 assistant coach. Noelle will be overseeing the development programme for players in Stage 1 and 2; and working with the summer panel to prepare for the inter-provincial tournament in September. |

| Leinster Girls U16 Manager | Claire Byrne | Claire Byrne was the U16 girls manager in 2018 and is looking forward to continuing in this role. Eligibility: LHA & Leinster South East Girls U16 & U18
The South-East teams are supposed to represent players from clubs or schools in the region previously known as South East and it is being continued solely to encourage the development of hockey amongst clubs within that region.
With the merging of both junior age and the ladies’ leagues in recent years we need to be clear and transparent on our selection criteria when we are competing in Hockey Ireland competitions at junior age group (U16 & U18).
Players invited to development centres based on the designated region of their Club in the first instance. If they are not playing for a club, then their school designated region will determine which centre they should attend for development and which team they are eligible for selection to.
If a player is a member of a club in one region and a school in a different region, then the designation of their club will determine which inter-provincial development and regional team they are eligible to play for in the first instance. This is to ensure that the team is representative of clubs who are trying to develop the sport in the region
Exceptions
If a player has already played for an inter-provincial team, then they remain tied to that team until they cross into the older age group
