The Ladies Vets section was set up by Ann Cox (Railway Union) way back in 1990 and is still going strong. The competition was designed to encourage the elder lemons amongst us to carry on playing at a more social level.
Due to demand, two leagues have been created to cater for a record 18 teams!!
Matches are played midweek on nights that are not used for general club training and needless to say there are very few veterans who actually admit to training unless of course you count lifting a glass or two after the match has finished!
Players must be 35 or over but those still playing in Divisions 1 to 4 are NOT eligible, however, each club may play 2 players in any one match aged between 30 and 35 who are no longer playing league AND may play a goalie who is over 30 years old.
The season always ends with the Annual 7-a-side tournament and this season this will take place on Friday 21st April, 2023 in Pembroke Wanderers!
