Loreto Kilkenny and Kilkenny College faced off against each other in South East 
Girls Senior Schools final at the Granges Road, Kilkenny. Reflecting two different styles of hockey, the noisy supporters saw an illness stricken College side win out in a tight match. On diplay was a strong fast running game from Loreto against the slower passing game of the College.

The highlight of the game was the tussle for midfield control between Cadogan of Loreto and Duncan of the College in which the honours were evenly shared.
In the end lack of experience told when College proved to be better at set piece play, scoring twice from penalty corners, although Loreto had the higher number of corners awarded. Geoghegan and Thomas of the College scored one each, paving the way for another appearance for the school at the Kate Russell finals, in which they featured so strongly last year.
