Joan O'Reilly - RIP

The board of the Leinster Hockey Association was saddened to learn of the passing of
Honorary Life Member Joan O'Reilly - Muckross HC, Leinster & Ireland.
Joan was one of the true legends of Irish women's hockey in the 1950's collecting 34 caps in a glittering ten year international career. An attacking player with lightening speed and flair, she was known for the quality and timing of her crosses, many of which resulted in Irish goals. She was a member of the Triple Crown winning Irish team of 1950 and a member of the Irish touring team that toured South Africa (1950), Folkestone (1953), USA (1954) and Amsterdam (1959).
Following her retirement from playing, Joan went on to become an international umpire.

Funeral notice :Reposing at Rom Massey & Sons Funeral Home, 1-3 Dolphinâs Barn, SCR on Monday (Jan 13) from 9.30am to 5.30pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday morning (Jan 14) at 11am in Terenure College Chapel, Terenure, followed by interment in Bohernabreena Cemetery.
