Many thanks for the feedback to last months roundup. Since then all leagues have commenced both at senior club and schools level. Our thanks as always to the numerous committees and volunteers in the Leinster Hockey Association, the clubs and schools who work tirelessly for hockey throughout the province. Interpro Success



In October the Leinster and South East Girls Under 16 & Under 18 squads travelled to Cork for the Interprovincials. The standard of hockey at the tournament was extremely high and congratulations to the Leinster squads who won their respective competitions. A huge THANK YOU to all the squads managers and coaches who worked so hard getting the players ready for the weekend and congratulations to all the players who have been invited for Irish Trials (Under 18 trialists click here & Under 16 trialists click here).
All Ireland Schoolboys Championships

Five Leinster teams took part in the All Ireland Schoolboy Championships that were held in Leinster at the end of October. Congratulations to St Andrews who retained the title when they beat Wesley College in the Final.
Boys Interprovincials
The Leinster Boys Under 16 & Under 18 squads were recently announced. Congratulations to all those players selected and best of luck to both squads when they travel to Mossley HC later this month.

South East Interprovincial Status
At the time of the formation of the Leinster Hockey Association, the IHA agreed that the South East Interprovincial status would continue for three years. The LHA are hoping to secure the Interprovincial status for South East going forward.
Under 16 Boys Leagues & Cup
Could those clubs planning on entering a team into the Under 16 boys league and Cup please confirm their intent to Glenn Holmes by phone or email as soon as possible.
There will be a short meeting in Corinthian Hockey club at 7:30 on Monday 11th November where a representative from each club entering is requested to come. The meeting will be for clubs to swap information, voice any queries and bring up any possible issues.

Junior & Primary Schoolgirls Hockey
The Junior & Primary Schoolgirls Blitz was held on Friday 18th October. Despite challenging conditions games went ahead and the committee hope to finalise rankings by 08th November. Details of all the Junior & Primary Schoolgirls Hockey can be found here

Double Joy for UCD
Congratulations to UCD Ladies and Men's teams who won their respective Inter Varsities Competitons over the October Bank Holiday weekend.
Player/Team Conduct
Clubs and managers are asked to remind players and coaching teams that they are required to abide by the LHA Code of Conduct. In particular, abuse directed towards officals or opponents will not be tolerated and will be dealt with severely by the Disciplinary Hearing Panel. Click here for LHA Code of Conduct
System updates
Please ensure that the information on the Leinster website is correct for your club. If there has been a change of personnel please email admin@leinsterhockey.ie. All clubs should now be updating the website with the times of games - if you have any problems contact the LHA administrator. The admin area (to update times) can now be accessed via the LHA homepage. We would also ask that results are returned by correctly formatted text as soon as possible after the game. Results are sent every Saturday evening to the press and we are aiming for 90% compliancy by Christmas!!
Under 21 Interprovincials - Nominations & Volunteers required
The Under 21 Interprovincials will take place in Grange Road this February. Clubs are asked to nominate players for trials as soon as possible. Players must be under 21 on the 01st January 2014. Please send the players name, contact details, date of birth and playing position to admin@leinsterhockey.ie as soon as possible.
Volunteers ** - the LHA will be hosting the Under 21 Interprovincials and we are looking for volunteers to assist with the running of the competition. If you or someone you know would be interested please contact Claire Kelly at admin@leinsterhockey.ie or 083 4208 772
Development
Leinster RDO, Sue Haslam has commenced a 6-week pilot for âDundalk Hockey Clubâ on the 5th Nov. Training will be every Tuesday from 6.30 â 7.30 pm at Dundalk Grammar School. If you would like more information on this please email sue.haslam@hockey.ie.
Introductory Coaching Course for Volunteers
The IHA will be running an Introductory Coaching Course for Volunteers in Kilkenny on 16th November. Details of the course and how to book your place can be found here
