October 01, 2013
New IHA Technical Officials Working Group looking to DEVELOP AND TRAIN more Technical Officials
The IHA are looking to grow the pool of Technical Officials (TO) and Judges around the country.
TO's and Judges manage the technical table at matches and Tournaments managing everything from the timing, paperwork, discipline and team conformance with the Rules & Regulations of the competition.
Is this something you would be interested in doing? The skills required are:
· Level of concentration
· Attention to detail
· Calm disposition
This role is suitable to all - young and old!!
The new Working Group will be holding introductory training sessions during October around the country and then plan to have buddy sessions by setting up TO tables at some provincial league games through the season to give people experience of what is involved.
This may be a great way for you to be involved in the game and the action that you may not have thought about before? Given the nature of the role, you can do this whether you are an active player, umpire or passionate hockey supporter who never played the game yourself.
We would love to hear from anyone who is interested in finding out more and/or attending an introductory session. Please email iha.technicalappointments@
