What is Quick Hockey?
âQuick Hockey' is a brand new game that anyone can pick up whether they have played hockey before or not! It's a great way to keep healthy and make friends. It can be played with anything up to 7 players on a team and can be played on any surface with specially modified goals and ball to make it easier and more fun.
We are hoping to run the new Irish Hockey initiative that will reach adults in all 32 counties in Ireland. Quick Hockey can be run locally by clubs to become part of their community and to get more people more active more often. It can also be run by community centres, leisure centres and other sports organisations - anyone who wants to provide a chance for someone to get out there and get hooked!
What makes Quick Hockey so good?
- Fewer rules
- Smaller teams
- Score from anywhere
- Bigger ball
- Specially designed goals
- Can be played anywhere

We aim to run Quick Hockey in 40 venues around the county in year 1 and increase the number of venues by 10 in year 2. We aim to target an initial 2500 participants in year one and increasing up to 4000 in year 2.
