Another busy week of hockey saw our competitions continue to ramp up across the Senior and Schools divisions as we move further into October.
Here’s a quick round-up of the action from this weekend’s highlighted divisions, along with a look ahead to what’s coming up this week.
Women’s EYHL 2 Qualifier
It has been an extremely entertaining opening few weeks in the Women’s EYHL 2 Qualifier, with the competition reaching its fourth round of fixtures.
Avoca have set the pace with a brilliant start to the season, recording four wins from four. Their latest victory came away from home against Corinthian, with Avoca securing an impressive 4-1 win.
Portrane and Glenanne played out an entertaining 2-2 draw, while Trinity and Muckross also shared the points following a 1-1 draw.

Men’s EYHL 2 Qualifier
The Men’s EYHL 2 Qualifier entered its second week of fixtures, with Railway Union, Clontarf and UCD all recording back-to-back wins to begin the season.
Dublin University also picked up an impressive result, travelling to Glenanne and securing a 2-1 victory.
This weekend will see two of the unbeaten sides go head-to-head, as UCD host Railway Union in one of the standout fixtures.

Spotlight Divisions
Women’s Division 5
Our spotlight divisions did not disappoint this weekend, with the Women’s Division 5 producing some entertaining contests.
Kilkenny and UCD played out an eight-goal thriller, with UCD taking the points away from home following an impressive 5-3 victory.
There were also two draws in the division, while Pembroke Wanderers secured a 4-0 win over Laois.

Men’s Division 2
The Men’s Division 2 also produced some highly competitive fixtures.
A five-goal thriller in Rathgar saw the home side secure a 3-2 victory over Railway Union in an entertaining contest.
Glenanne also put in a strong performance to defeat Wicklow 4-1, while the remaining two fixtures ended in draws.

Upcoming Senior Fixtures




Schools Section
The SG Senior Premier Division continued into its second week, with a number of extremely tight games taking place across the week.
Three games took place on Wednesday, September 30th, with all three decided by a single goal in a closely contested day of Senior Premier action.
St Gerard’s and Kilkenny College picked up 1-0 away wins against Dalkey and The King’s Hospital respectively, while Holy Child Killiney edged past Mount Sackville 1-0.
Continuing the theme, Mount Anville travelled to Loreto Foxrock and secured a 1-0 victory, while St Andrew’s College put in a strong performance to defeat The High School.

This week will see another set of exciting fixtures in the Senior Premier Division on Wednesday.
The Boys’ top division will also be in action this weekend, with Wesley College hosting Temple Carrig, while The King’s Hospital travel to The High School in what promises to be another entertaining contest.


Junior Section
The Junior section also returned over the weekend, with club Girls’ and Boys’ teams back in action across the divisions.
It was brilliant to see teams return to competitive action, with some strong performances across the opening round of fixtures.
