The Launch of The Book of Genesis
October 02, 2026
Genesis Hockey Club are set to celebrate the rich history of the club with the launch of a new book, ‘The Book of Genesis: In the Beginning’.
The official launch will take place this Saturday, October 3rd, at 6:30pm at O’Dwyers Pub, bringing together members of the Genesis community, past and present, to celebrate the publication of the book.
The evening will mark the official launch of The Book of Genesis, which will also become available to the public, providing an opportunity for the wider hockey community to explore the story and history of the club.
Everyone at Leinster Hockey would like to wish Genesis Hockey Club the very best ahead of this weekend’s event and recognise the tremendous work that has gone into the creation and publication of the book.
The Book of Genesis: In the Beginning promises to take readers on a journey through the club’s history, with stories, memories and insights from across the years helping to capture what makes Genesis Hockey Club such an important part of the hockey community.
We would encourage the hockey community to get behind this excellent project as the book becomes available, and we wish everyone involved the very best for Saturday’s launch.
A Word from Genesis
Genesis was founded 50 years ago by graduates with two teams. It now has six senior teams, a veteran team and over 500 juniors playing. The Anniversary Book of Genesis contains the names and year of joining of anyone who has played in the senior club over the last five decades.
Genesis ......where hockey is just the beginning!
Ahead of the launch, Jantien and Katie were also invited onto the Oliver Callan Show on RTÉ Radio 1 to discuss the new book and the story behind its creation.
