It was another action-packed week across Leinster, with the Men’s divisions returning on Saturday, the opening week of our Schools competitions getting underway and the Women’s leagues continuing to gather pace.
Here’s a look back at some of the standout action from across the senior and schools divisions.
Men’s EYHL 2 Qualifier
The Men’s EYHL 2 Qualifier got underway over the weekend, with four teams making the perfect start to their campaigns.
UCD, Clontarf, Glenanne and Railway Union all picked up opening-day victories, with Clontarf edging out Rathgar in a seven-goal thriller. UCD also got their campaign off to a winning start with a 3-0 victory away to Bray, while Glenanne and Railway Union recorded wins over Kilkenny and Dublin University respectively.

- Bray 0-3 UCD
- Rathgar 3-4 Clontarf
- Kilkenny 0-2 Glenanne
- Dublin University 2-4 Railway Union
Women’s EYHL 2 Qualifier
There was plenty of action in the Women’s EYHL 2 Qualifier, with Trinity continuing their impressive start to the campaign.
Trinity made it two wins from two with a 3-0 victory over Glenanne, while Portrane and Avoca also maintained their 100% records. Portrane edged past YMCA 2-1, with Avoca recording a convincing 3-0 win over Three Rock Rovers.
There was also a closely fought contest between Muckross and Corinthian, with the sides sharing the points following a 2-2 draw.

Women’s Division 5
Our spotlight division this week is Women’s Division 5, which produced some impressive performances across the weekend.
Gorey’s strong start continued with a 2-0 victory away to Laois, while Pembroke also picked up an impressive result on the road, defeating Naas 4-0.
There were also big wins for Monkstown and UCD, who both recorded clean-sheet victories, while Bray and Portrane played out a goalless draw.

- Naas 0-4 Pembroke
- Laois 0-2 Gorey
- Monkstown 6-0 Kilkenny
- Bray 0-0 Portrane
- UCD 5-0 North Kildare
SG Schools Senior Prem
The Senior Prem also got underway last week, with a number of competitive fixtures taking place across the opening round.
One of the standout contests saw St Andrew’s come away with an impressive victory over St Gerard’s following a closely fought encounter.
With the opening round now complete, attention turns to another week of action as teams look to build momentum early in the season.
The SG Senior Prem continues this week, with a number of big fixtures taking place on Wednesday.
The King’s Hospital will host Kilkenny College in what promises to be a closely contested game. Holy Child Killiney will look to build on their opening performances when they face Mount Sackville, while St Gerard’s will be looking to respond as they travel to Dalkey.
