March 24, 2026
An action-packed day unfolded on March 18th, continuing the fantastic atmosphere and top-class hockey we had enjoyed the day before. Several finals took place throughout the day, including the Girls’ Minor Cup Final and the Schoolboys’ Minor and Senior Cup Finals, which were live streamed on Leinster Hockey +.
The action on the front pitch began with the SG Minor Cup Final between Loreto Foxrock and Mount Anville. It was an extremely tight contest, with both teams enjoying periods of control and both defences standing strong throughout. As the game progressed, it was Loreto Foxrock who found the decisive moment from a penalty corner, expertly worked and finished. A huge congratulations to Loreto Foxrock on a fantastic win.

The SB Minor Cup Final followed at 1:30pm, and once again we were treated to a thrilling encounter, this time between St Columba’s College and Wesley College. The game was played at a blistering pace, with both teams creating momentum at different stages. Wesley College found the opener before the break, but St Columba’s College continued to push hard for an equaliser. Their moment came with minutes to spare, as they scored to send the game to a shootout.
The shootout was full of drama, going to a fourth round of sudden death before Wesley College secured a 7–6 victory to claim the Minor Cup. Congratulations to Wesley College on a memorable win.

Attention then turned to the Senior Cup Final between Wesley College and Newpark. Wesley entered the contest as favourites, while Newpark were determined to cause an upset after an impressive cup run. The game began evenly, with Newpark putting in a well-organised defensive performance and causing Wesley some early problems. As the second quarter began, Wesley found their rhythm, scoring twice to take a lead into half time. In the second half, Wesley continued their strong performance, adding three more goals to be crowned Senior Cup Champions. Newpark battled right to the final whistle and deserve great credit for their excellent cup run.
A massive congratulations to Wesley College and Loreto Foxrock on their victories.

Elsewhere on the day, Mount Anville claimed the Girls’ Minor Trophy after a 1–1 draw with St Gerard’s, winning the shootout. St Kilian’s secured the Boys’ Minor Trophy with a 2–1 win over Kilkenny College, while The King’s Hospital won the Senior Trophy with a 2–1 victory against Sutton Park.
Congratulations to everyone involved
