Club Officer Umpire Training Workshops in Leinster

Hockey Ireland has announced the launch of their Club Officer Umpire Training Workshops, with two confirmed dates now set for Leinster — and a third date in South Dublin currently being planned.
Upcoming Workshops:
- Portrane – Sunday, October 5th | 11am–2pm
- North Kildare – Sunday, October 12th | 11am–2pm
These workshops are designed to support clubs in strengthening their umpire networks and ensuring that officials feel confident, connected, and supported.
What the training will cover:
- Acting as the main point of contact for umpire development within your club
- Actively recruiting and supporting registered club umpires
- Maintaining a list of club umpires and their contact details
- Sharing key umpiring updates with players, coaches, and umpires
- Encouraging umpires to complete the HI Fundamentals of Umpiring course
- Organising coaching sessions or seminars with support from provincial umpiring associations
- Supporting club umpires with disciplinary or Code of Conduct matters
- Reviewing umpire performances and checking in regularly to ensure progress and development
