Countdown to the Girls Interpro Tournament!
One of the most anticipated dates in the hockey calendar is almost here! This Friday, September 5th, all roads lead to Cork Church of Ireland Hockey Club as the Girls Interpro Tournament gets underway.
Over three exciting days, teams from Leinster, Leinster South, Munster, Connacht, and Ulster will battle it out for the title of All-Ireland Champions across the U16 and U18 age groups.
Both Leinster and Leinster South squads have been working incredibly hard since December as part of the Player Development Programme, proudly supported by AerCap. After months of training, preparation, and team bonding, the players are ready to showcase their skills on the national stage.
- Leinster U16 and U18 sides will begin their campaigns on Friday with fixtures against Connacht.
- Leinster South U16 and U18 squads will open against Munster later that day.

Inside the Camp
In the build-up to the tournament, we caught up with coaches and captains to hear their thoughts ahead of the big weekend.
Sean Butler, Leinster South U16 Head Coach, shared:
“The aim is always to play well and compete. Of course, we want to win, but we’ll take it one quarter at a time and focus on what’s in front of us. Off the pitch, I hope the girls enjoy the weekend—it’s a special tournament they’ll remember for years, so striking that balance between focus and fun is key.”
Holly Farrell, Leinster U18 Captain, reflected on the team’s journey so far:
“Definitely our training sessions have been a highlight for me this year. Trainings were real bonding moments for us as a team when we had to dig deep and cheer each other on during those tough sessions. The laughs and memories we’ve made together—with the help of our coaches Rory, Fiona, Ellie, and Freda who created such a welcoming and enjoyable environment—really helped to unify us as a group.”
