Leinster Hockey Boys Interpro Tournament – One Week to Go!

We’re now just over a week away from the start of the Boys Interpro Tournament, and excitement is building fast! The Leinster Boys U16 and U18 squads have been working hard throughout their development programme and are fully focused on their opening fixtures next Friday.
The tournament runs from 29–31 August at Lisnagarvey Hockey Club, with both squads facing Ulster in their first games on Friday—U16s at 2pm, followed by the U18s at 3pm.
The players and staff are eagerly anticipating the challenge. U16 Head Coach, Jonny Codd, shared his thoughts:
“Overall, as a squad and coaching team, we’re really excited for the Interpros. We’ve brought together a competitive group of players who are eager to test themselves against strong opposition. As a coach, it’s incredibly rewarding to see what we’ve been working on in training appear in matches. Watching players develop certain skills and then having the confidence to use them in games is a real highlight.
Finally, I’d like to thank the players, parents/guardians, and the coaching team for their huge effort in getting players to training and supporting them in the build-up to the Interpros. We wouldn’t have reached this level without that commitment.”
Over the three days, Leinster will take on Ulster, Munster, and Connacht, with the goal of being crowned All-Ireland Champions. It promises to be a weekend of top-class hockey, showcasing some of the best young talent in the country.
